VIDEO INTERVIEW. “No time to manage egos”: These fears that Alexandra Lamy had for her first realization

This Thursday, September 22, Alexandra Lamy will unveil Touchées on TF1, her first film as a director. She told Télé Star the fears she had when going behind the camera.

The pressure is at its height. In few hours, it is in another light that viewers will discover Alexandra Lamy. For the first time, it is not as an actress but as a director that her talent will be honored. This Thursday, September 22, TF1 will broadcast his first movie, Affected – which was rewarded at the La Rochelle TV fiction festival. “This is the theme that came to me“, explains Alexandra Lamy. When producer Philip Boëffard called her to talk to her about a one-to-one adaptation of Quentin Zuitton’s comic book, Alexandra Lamy first thought he was offering her a role. Nope. “I don’t want you playing in it. I want you to realize it“, he retorted. Challenge accepted. And this, when she had not even rubbed shoulders with this exercise via a short film. It must be said that it had been running through Alexandra Lamy’s head since a while ago. Mostly, she was overwhelmed by this graphic novel, especially because it’s a rebuilding story.”This is the film I need for a first production!“, she exclaimed, as she tells us.

But she concedes: going behind the camera was not a long calm river. Alexandra Lamy had many fears, as she details in the video below. Starting with the choice of its actresses. With 23 days to shoot his unit, “it means that it will go very very quickly“, underlines the actress who therefore needed “good actresses, pro, who trust me and who are not boring on set because I won’t have time to deal with everyone’s egos, hell“Three names quickly stood out. “The first person I thought of was Mélanie Douteywonderful actress“, tells us Alexandra Lamy. And to launch in a burst of laughter: “The advantage is that she is my friend so I have her phone number. The downside is that I’m her friend so she knows that I never did anything.“The other two actresses were also a no-brainer.”I immediately thought of Claudia Tagbo. If she had told me no, it would have been a disaster. I had no one else in mind“, she admits to us. Same thing for Chloé Jouannet. “I took her beyond the fact that she was my daughter. Chloé, this is not a young first. No, it’s a dragon. It is fire. It screams. It’s crying. It’s fragile. It yells. That’s Tamara’s role!

How Chloé Jouannet called Alexandra Lamy during the filming of Touchées

Nevertheless, Alexandra Lamy was afraid that directing your daughter is not easy. “Chloe is my daughter. Do you tell yourself how it’s going to be? I hope we won’t have any problems on set, teenage crisis“, she said to herself. More fear than harm. Alexandra Lamy is more than ever aware of the talent and professionalism of her “baby”. She also tried to create a distance with her mother by calling her by her first name. “I won’t call you mom, I’ll call you Alexandra“, had warned Chloé Jouannet, in vain. She did not succeed, as fun Alexandra Lamy. As for directing her best friend? It was very reassuring“, says the young director. “From the first ‘action’, we were moved, we both cried, it was ridiculous. She’s a great actress so I was totally confident. I was more afraid that it was her who didn’t trust. With Mélanie, you don’t need to do a lot of takes, it’s perfect right away“, enthuses Alexandra Lamy. So much so that Mélanie Doutey will continue to be her muse for her next projects as a director.
