Video: "Short dress – that's sexual coercion!"

Anyone wearing a short dress must expect sexual harassment. Or? This video serves on a silver platter what is going so wrong in our world.

Have you ever worn a pretty summer dress, wandered the streets inexperienced and were accompanied by whistles? And when was the last time you did your little black dress only to be whispered in your ear in the crowd at the bar? If these moments sound familiar to you, you've been really lucky again – after all, you could have been arrested too. At least when it comes to a new video that we don't want to withhold from you.

No, we haven't gone crazy. But sometimes we have the impression that it is our world. The satire show Browser Ballett has now brought this feeling in front of the camera and has released a beautiful mini-film entitled "Your own fault – if the dress is too short".

Welcome to our twisted world

The video begins with a scene as described above: A woman in a light summer dress strolls past a snack bar inexperienced. The beer-drinking guest does not miss this chance: "Hey! Do you want to fuck?" He calls after the lady. When this does not react, the question is willingly repeated several times and peppered with swear words.

Up to this point, many women should still be familiar with the scenery. The initiators, however, thought a step further – and simply pointed out how society is currently dealing with victims of sexual harassment and how they feel about it. Guilty.

"It couldn't be any closer, was it?"

In the further course of the video we see police officers who arrest the woman, men who measure their skirt length with a reproachful look and also passers-by who cannot resist making a disparaging remark in passing.

And while the lady was still with accusations like "It wasn't tight, right?" If he hits around, the takeaway man is already a victim of history – after all, in his completely drunk state he had no choice. No question about it: this is a case for the "sexy containment squad" that arrests the woman. Finally, we can still follow the reporting that carries the topic: "Gone up and rejected – a fate that affects more and more men in Germany."

Well, we don't need to say much more about it: Because the satire video sums up sadly how countless women fare every day. You will not be found guilty, but found so. And we should finally put an end to this strange exchange of victim and perpetrator roles. A dress cannot speak. And so it will never call for the wearer to want to be sexually harassed. A "no" remains a "no" – regardless of the outfit.
