VIDEO – Sophie Davant bitter about the end of It’s on the program: “I had a very bad experience”

A slight bitterness in the air. After more than three decades on the air, Sophie Davant is still at the height of her glory. Monday December 18, the 60-year-old journalist was on the set of‘As an aside to talk in particular about his new work entitled What a joy to grow old (Éditions Solar), from Sophie and friendsthe column she runs on Europe 1 since the start of the school year, but also of his personal life, and It’s on the program. Suddenly canceled in 2019 after more than two decades on the air, the show left a certain nostalgia at the presenter’s house.

“It lasted twenty-three years anyway, the history of this program”, the journalist began by saying. With a slightly sad smile and a lot of honesty, the one who made her debut in public service in 1987 gave further explanations as to her feelings: “I had a very bad experience with it, especially since I was told it was for economic reasons.” And to develop: “We were initially made to record two seasons, I think. We were no longer live for economic reasons. We had to make budget savings.” If she was able to bounce back, the mother retains a certain bitterness from this sudden stop: “I had a bad experience, it was very painful. First of all, I missed the team, I no longer saw them on a daily basis. Then, I found that we had not done anything wrong. It’s always difficult, and at the same time we can understand that there is a need for renewal. […] We don’t own a hut.”

“The one who gave me my real chance…”

For the Canal + program, Sophie Davant also discussed the beginnings of her career, and the one to whom she owes a lot. The one who gave me my real chanceIt is William Leymergieobviously.” And for good reason, it is with the flagship presenter of France Televisions that the young journalist did his weapons on Télématin. And since then, the tandem has never left each other. A little over a year ago, they even announced that they were having a love story together.
