Officers immediately stopped the silver car, registered in Delaware, and pointed their guns at the driver.

Security personnel immediately rushed the president into a waiting vehicle and took him away from the building in downtown Wilmington. “The president and first lady are fine,” a White House official told an AFP journalist who witnessed the incident.
Gathered on the sidewalk in front of the campaign offices, where the president and Jill Biden had dined with their team, the pool reporters had just finished questioning Joe Biden at the exit when the sound of the collision rang out, revealing an expression surprise on the president’s face.
The journalists were quickly rounded up by staff to join the convoy which was leaving the scene in the rain. “They are evacuating, you need to leave,” a staff member told reporters as security personnel secured the area. Joe Biden arrived safely at his family home, without further incident.
