VIDEO – “What do we do?” : Sandrine Bonnaire launches a heartfelt cry after the death of her mother

Fame can help you win many battles. Sandrine Bonnaire, guest on the set of C to you on November 30, was able to seize the opportunity to talk about the deplorable living conditions of certain seniors in nursing homes. Very sensitive about this subject since the death of her mother in strange circumstances, the actress came to file a complaint against the establishment in which her mother resided. A difficult outcome, which she speaks to Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine on France 5, recounting having taken up this problem and making it a personal matter. Because since she spoke publicly about the problem of nursing homes and registered on social networks, Sandrine Bonnaire became the voice of the voiceless in this domain.

“It’s a real concern.”she explains, calling out on the air: “What do we do with our elders?” She recounts the different testimonies she has received since taking a public position: “It happened to my mother, it happened to my father, I filed a complaint and it was dismissed, we didn’t have the courage to follow through or we didn’t not been heard…” So many testimonies which encourage him to continue his action. The actress is also appealing to the public authorities, who according to her should take this problem head on. It thus motivates them to review the salaries of people working in nursing homes, which is “difficult work and not paid enough”. She concludes: “I think it’s really a whole system that needs to be reviewed.”

Scandalous living conditions

Later in the show, the mother of Jeanne and Adèle recounts the living conditions his mother suffered. She details that she ate the same food as the local hospital, and that she was not allowed enough diapers to stay clean and dignified all day. “How can you treat people like that?” she asks. And if you do not accept these conditions, “you are capricious people”.
