Intensive courses for 25 euros
Half of them (!) can’t swim. The city is going on the offensive to change that. Under the title “Vienna swims!”, students are called upon to catch up on swimming lessons: “During the summer holidays, Viennese schoolchildren who have attended third grade in the last three years can do a ten-day intensive course,” says City Councilor for Education Christoph Wiederkehr. The offer costs only 25 and is practiced in small groups of five to six children with swimming instructors from the Vienna baths. Registration takes place in May, 1100 places are available.
