According to model Elle Macpherson (55), Austrian construction lion Richard "Mörtel" Lugner (87) is bringing a world-class athlete as star guest to the Vienna Opera Ball this year: the former US ski star Lindsey Vonn (35) will accompany him. That influenced the choice
According to the Austrian media, Lugner said he had poached "in the beautiful women's vegetable garden" about his choice. The decisive factor was that Vonn spoke German very well. There has never been a meeting. "She is the most famous skier that has ever existed," said Lugner about his coup.
Vonn won 82 World Cup races in all disciplines in her active career, several times the overall World Cup, Olympic Gold and several World Cup titles. She is the most successful ski racer in World Cup history. She ended her career in February 2019.
From Belafonte to Griffith
Since 1992, at least one star guest has taken a seat next to Lugner in his box under a flash of lightning. The premiere guest was Harry Belafonte.
