Tuesday, November 16, 2021, Brigitte Fryza will never forget. A friend dropped her off at the Corona test box on Ruthnergasse in Vienna-Floridsdorf. When Fryza was finished testing, she was supposed to be picked up again. In search of her friend, the Viennese woman crossed what she described as a “quiet, illuminated” street around 6:30 p.m. In front of the grass verge she looked in both directions. When she looked to the left, she was hit with force by a car from the right: head trauma and whiplash, elbow, shoulder and cervical spine injuries. Despite therapy and rehabilitation, panic attacks, dizziness attacks and balance problems remain.
