Vigilante justice – a pensioner scratched ten cars from illegal parking

A pensioner is said to have scratched ten cars in Lehen’s Strubergasse. The man is likely to have been so annoyed about illegal parking that he went to vigilante justice.

The man had previously attracted attention again and again because he carefully monitored compliance with the park rules. Although the evidence is overwhelming – he was seen and filmed during some of the crimes – the man did not confess. Even after showing the video, on which he is clearly recognizable, he stuck to his version. He just wanted to make noise to drive away a Mader who was sitting under the car. Even his closing words “I did nothing!” And his hitherto impeccable way of life could not save him from a partial fine. “In my opinion, one cannot be more convicted than you”, the judge justified the guilty verdict. The consequences under civil law are also likely to be expensive for the man, because: The acts resulted in damage of several thousand euros. In addition, there will probably be the legal fees for the injured party. The verdict is not final – the prosecution and defense took three days to think about it.
