“Vikings: Valhalla” has started on Netflix. The first season of the “Vikings” successor comes to a bloody end as usual – and especially the death of one of the most popular characters in the explosive finale makes some of the viewers swallow hard: Jarl, the ruler of Kattegat, played by Swedish actress Caroline Henderson Haakon, dies in episode 8 in the cruel hail of arrows.

But have “Valhalla” viewers really seen the last of Jarl Haakon?

Speaking to Metro, Caroline Henderson now reveals that a return of her character, who died in the finale, is at least not out of the question. “We don’t really know that [sie nicht zurückkehren wird]”, Henderson explains to the English newspaper – and adds: “She could possibly show up as a ghost or something similar.”

So Caroline Henderson doesn’t really seem to question the death of her character, but the “Vikings: Valhalla” actress also emphasizes that Jarl Haakon about the power of the anticipation has. The pagan ruler of Kattegat therefore knew “what will happen.” However, they do not fully reveal this supernatural foreknowledge to others.

And while Jarl Haakon’s death was meant to be final (which it sounds like), Henderson says it was “great” to play the now-iconic Vikings: Valhalla character in the Netflix series. Jarl Haakon is “so well written.”

Caroline Henderson refuses to criticize her character

Caroline Henderson also addresses some critics in the same interview. According to them, Jarl Haakon is one historical figure who was male. However, Henderson insists that her Vikings: Valhalla character is not male at all, and is “purely fictional.”

“[Sie] is inspired by great warriors, great rulers of history – both female and male,” says the Swede.
