The first official trailer for "Fast & Furious 9" will be released on Friday (January 31). Leading actor Vin Diesel (52) has already presented the fans of the action series with a first teaser on his official Facebook page. The clip is less than a minute long. "Things are changing," the actor writes in the comment. Indeed, the life of his character Dominic "Dom" Toretto seems to have changed …
"Protection from what's coming"
The teaser contains only a few scenes with Diesel as Dom, his little son Brian and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez, 41). The three seem to enjoy their rural life away from breakneck auto races and wild chases. The father-son duo initially tinkered with an old tractor. In the voiceover, Dom explains that as a father he can no longer live from one car race to the next. But there seems to be a threat.
Letty presents her foster son with the well-known cross chain that Dom had once given her. It is "protection from what's to come," she says. The last shot shows Dom with a somber expression on his face and how he is clutching the cross chain with one hand.
The cross chain also occupies a prominent place on the first poster for the film, which Vin Diesel posted via Instagram. Diesel itself can be seen from behind, leaning against a hood.
What is the threat to Dom and his small family? Will Cipher (Charlize Theron, 44) take revenge after the disaster in "Fast & Furious 8"? It has already been confirmed that Theron will return in the ninth part of the saga. In addition to the well-known stars such as Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges and Nathalie Emmanuel, Helen Mirren is also back. In addition, rapper Cardi B and ex-wrestler John Cena join the cast.
"Fast & Furious 9" has been announced in Germany for May 21, 2020.
