A story that brings generations together
We are in New York in the 1920s and Georgia, 6, has only one dream in mind: to become a firefighter, like her dad Shawn. Unfortunately, at that time, only men were allowed to practice this profession.
About ten years later, the resurgence of strange fires pushes Shawn to form a new shock squad, handpicked. Georgia, determined to finally fulfill her destiny, seizes this opportunity, and pretends to be a man in order to join the brigade. To achieve her goals, she must break codes and prohibitions, and prove to her father that she has the necessary qualities for this job.
Vaillante is a story that will appeal to young and old alike, with a powerful adventure story highlighting messages that speak to everyone.
A message of equality and emancipation
Subtly raising awareness, Vaillante is centered on a strong idea: a girl can do as many things as a boy, and her career should not be dictated by her gender.
But that’s not all since the film released on February 2, 2022 at the cinema and which has accumulated 1.3 million admissions also reveals a touching reflection on education and the overprotection that parents can sometimes show, for fear to see their children fly with their own wings.
Passion, courage and abnegation are also values highlighted in this very first co-production by Theodore Ty and Laurent Zeitoun.
