Vincent Gil is dead. The Australian actor made life difficult for Mel Gibson in “Mad Max”.

Vincent Gil is dead. The Australian actor died on Sunday (21 August 2022) at the age of 83. Vincent Gil is best known for his role in the cult film “Mad Max”. He played the lunatic Crawford Montizano, known as Nightrider, in the 1979 action classic. With Mel Gibson (66) he delivered a famous chase in the film.

“Very frail for a long time”

“Mad Max” co-star Paul Johnstone gave the sad news known on Facebook. “Unfortunately it’s true… Vince Gil left us,” the post reads. “He had been very frail for a long time.”

Johnstone also remembers a trip by the “Mad Max” stars to a fan event in Japan in 2015. Even then, Vincent Gil was in poor health. But he beat his younger colleagues in terms of endurance. “Rest in peace old friend,” writes Johnson, who played Cundalini on “Mad Max.” “We will think of you when we look up at the night sky”.

Even before “Mad Max,” Vincent Gil was an established supporting actor. He specialized in rough guys. He has also appeared in several television series such as “Neighbours”, “Prisoner” or “A Country Practice”.
