Vinci Airports passenger traffic more than tripled in the 2nd quarter

PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–The construction and concessions group Vinci announced Tuesday a tripling of passenger traffic in its various airports around the world during the second quarter.

Passenger numbers at Vinci Airports airports, however, remain down 27% compared to the same period of 2019, before the start of the health crisis, the group said.

In a press release published on Tuesday, Vinci evoked a “very strong dynamic in Europe since the beginning of April, to reach levels of recovery comparable to the American continent”.

Traffic has already exceeded 2019 levels at some airports in the Americas, but remains low in Asia due to weak international traffic from China, the statement said.

The airports of the Vinci Airports network welcomed 49 million passengers during the past quarter, a level more than three times higher than that of the same quarter in 2021. “Traffic continued to recover in Europe thanks to the resumption of flights by all airlines since the beginning of April”, underlined the group.
