Vinci Airports takes over the operation of the Brazilian airport of Manaus

PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones) – Vinci Airports, the airport division of the construction and concession group Vinci, announced on Wednesday that it had taken over the operation of Manaus international airport in Brazil.

This resumption of operation is carried out under a 30-year concession contract awarded by Brazilian civil aviation last April, the group said in a press release.

Manaus Airport is Brazil’s third largest cargo airport.

“Six other airports in the region – Porto Velho, Rio Branco, Boa Vista, Cruzeiro do Sul, Tabatinga and Tefé – will join the Vinci Airports portfolio in February 2022”, also indicated Vinci, specifying that cumulatively, these seven airports welcomed 7 million passengers in 2019.

Following the integration of Manaus airport and the six other hubs in the region, Vinci Airports will operate eight airports in Brazil, thus becoming the country’s leading international airport concessionaire in terms of the number of airports managed, the group said.
