Vinci: concession contract for 7 airports in Cape Verde


(CercleFinance.com) – Cape Verde and Vinci Airports sign the concession contract for the country’s seven airports.

The four international airports are Praia (the capital), Sal, São Vicente and Boa Vista. There are also three domestic airports: São Nicolau, São Filipe and Maio.

Over a period of 40 years, Vinci Airports and its Portuguese subsidiary ANA (respectively 70% and 30% of the concession company) will be responsible for the financing, operation, maintenance, extension and modernization of these platforms.

Cape Verdean airport traffic increased by an average of 5.6% per year between 2010 and 2019, to 2.8 million passengers. Traffic recovered to 80% of 2019 levels during the second quarter of 2022.
