Vinci: nuclear dismantling contract in Sweden – 02/02/2024 at 09:23

(CercleFinance.com) – Vinci announces that the Swedish energy group Vattenfall has awarded its subsidiary Nuvia a major six-year contract as part of the dismantling of units 1 and 2 of the Ringhals nuclear power plant, in Sweden .

Nuvia will be in charge of dismantling, controlling and sorting all materials, including radioactive ones, present inside the reactor buildings concerned. The work, planned for 2025 to 2031, will involve up to 400 people.

Located south of Gothenburg, the Ringhalsa power plant produced 220 TWh of electricity between its commissioning (1976) and the final shutdown of unit 1 (2020). The other two reactors – Ringhals 3 and 4 – still provide around 12% of the country’s electricity production.
