(AOF) – Olympia Odos, a 29.9% subsidiary of Vinci Concessions, has signed with the Greek authorities an extension of the motorway concession linking Athens to Corinth and Patras, commissioned in 2017. This concerns the extension of the motorway over a distance of 75 km to the town of Pyrgos, located to the west of the Peloponnese peninsula. The financing of the project, which represents an investment of 331 million euros, will include a contribution of 217 million euros from the Greek State, the balance being financed by a bank loan with a maturity of nearly 15 years.

In parallel, Olympia Odos will have successfully refinanced its existing bank loans, for an amount of approximately 495 million euros.

Vinci Concessions and its partners Hochtief PPP Solutions GmbH, Avax SA, Aktor Concessions and Gek Terna will be in charge of the design, financing, construction of this new section, then its operation until 2044. The concessionaire’s remuneration will be ensured by means of the collection of a toll.

With this new motorway section, Vinci Concessions will operate a 544 km network in Greece, which notably includes the Rion-Antirion Bridge. Linking the Peloponnese to mainland Greece, this bridge will facilitate access to the new Patras-Pyrgos section from the north of the country.
