Vinci wins two contracts in New Zealand worth 145 million euros


PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–Construction and concessions group Vinci announced on Thursday that it has been awarded two construction and maintenance contracts in New Zealand for a total amount of around NZ$250 million. (around 145 million euros) via its subsidiary HEB Construction.

The first contract was won with the national transport agency Waka Kotahi in a consortium with the companies Downer NZ and Tonkin+Taylor. It involves the design and construction of 4.5 km of coastal walkways and cycleways along Wellington Harbor at the southern tip of the North Island, as well as the construction of 2.7 km of dyke and 800 meters of protective walls “against storms and sea level rise”. Delivery of the work is scheduled for 2026.

HEB Construction has also won road maintenance contracts in Christchurch, on the east coast of the South Island, which will start in October 2022 for an initial term of five years, with an option to extend for another five years, said the building group.
