Vintage fashion: 7 pieces from grandma’s wardrobe that we’re wearing again now

I’m not good at guessing, but I would now lean out the window and say: a good 40 percent of my wardrobe consists of second-hand fashion. And not shopped, but inherited, exchanged, applied. While my family looks at me rather irritated when I look through their discarded clothes and like them, it has become a regular ritual between my best friend and I: almost every time we see each other, at some point in Browsed boxes and held a fashion show. After all, the pieces that you’ve had enough of looking at yourself could still suit the other really well.

Of course, it’s even more fun to take a look at the wardrobes of other generations. What you find in it often has above all emotional value. Grandfather’s sweater, grandmother’s tablecloth, which were always taken out on good occasions. But if you try to distance yourself from your own memories and look at the finds with an objective eye, we realize: wait a minute, they can still be bought again!

The vintage style has already made its way back into our homes in the form of furniture and decorations, but it doesn’t stop at our wardrobes either. For years, second-hand shops have been experiencing a new boom, with high-waisted to bell-bottom trousers, we first moved back to the youth of our parents and now, well, the journey through time may well go a little longer. Now fashion pieces are coming back that we may well have seen on our grandmothers.

Whether slipover, houndstooth or floral pattern, we take them all back with us – and let them merge very elegantly with our own style. Are you still unsure? Then take a look through our click path, because we’ll tell you which vintage fashion you can reach for in grandma’s wardrobe without thinking – because with these pieces you are stylish again today. And Grandma would be happy.

By the way – Guido Maria Kretschmer is also personally very taken with the retro trends, as he revealed to us in the interview.
