Have you heard of vinyl lips? If not, the time is right now! We have this trend to thank for the fact that our lips now look much fuller.

We all secretly wish for a sweet pout. But we don’t have to resort to needles and Botox right away. We have a much better solution and it’s called – Vinyl Lips. Or more simply: glossy lips. Labels like Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Sies Marjan brought the shimmering beauty trend to their runways this season, finally resurrecting the glossy lips of the 2000s.

But like all trends from the past, this one also gets a small update. Because we really don’t need the sticky lip feeling from back then. Therefore, a lip lacquer is applied instead of a gloss. The effect remains the same: the shine reflects the light and makes our lips appear larger. The high color intensity, luminosity and smoothing effect make the vinyl lips a real eye-catcher. In addition, the lip lacquers impress with their particularly long durability and opacity. To ask?

How do you make up the trend?

One thing is clear: the vinyl trend in bright red, bordeaux but also rosé exudes drama and is therefore extremely suitable as an evening look. There are two options for recreating the trend look: either you choose a colored lip polish that is applied directly to the lips. In the case of very bright color nuances, the lip contour should first be outlined with a lip liner for a clean result. The second option is to use an existing lipstick in the color of your choice and then apply a clear lip polish. However, there is a risk that the paint brush will then be permanently discolored. If you want to avoid that, you should choose option one.

Since the focus is clearly on the mouth with the vinyl lip polishes and this trend is based on intensive eye-catching colours, the rest of the make-up can be kept subtle. After all, the lips ensure a shiny appearance all by themselves.
