While season 4 of “Virgin River” has just arrived on Netflix, Martin Henderson, who plays Jack Sheridan, revealed that he was injured while filming a perilous sequence.
This Wednesday, July 20, Netflix released the fourth season of Virgin River, to the delight of romantic comedy fans, who were able to find Mel, Jack and their love meanders.
And if Virgin River is a series that shines with its slowness and its many reversals of situations, the actors revealed, during an interview granted to Entertainment Weekly that they also took risks to shoot this new burst of episodes.
While the previous season was the scene of a competition of the most hectic lumberjacks, this season 4 offered us a Renaissance fair in which the characters adorned themselves with their most beautiful period costume. An exceptional event which saw Preacher (Colin Lawrence) and Jack indulge in a memorable sword fight which earned Martin Henderson a good big bump on the skull.
During the filming of the sequence, the actor would have indeed made a somersault over a haystack and would have landed on his head. “It was not coordinated at all”, he explained. “This will be the last stunt I will do myself. Tom Cruise set the bar so high and then I come in and land on my head.”
“Martin looked a little giddy when we played that scene,” added Colin Lawrence, “but he was a real soldier and kept on touring“.
The two comedians still wanted to praise the stunt team who choreographed the fight, adding that it was one of their favorite experiences on the series. “It’s so much fun to be able to dress up and strut around the set”, explained Martin Henderson.
“Colin, you were awesome. I know you were worried about us accidentally hitting each other, which I may have done in rehearsal.” This sequence which, according to the two actors, required a lot of work and trust in each other, will probably remain in the annals of the series.
