Virginie Efira, Jonathan Cohen, Pierre Niney… these films and series to (re)watch with the stars of LOL: Who Laughs, Comes Out!

That’s it ! After months of waiting, LOL is back on March 10 on Prime Video. If the previous seasons had set the bar very high, this third edition is more hilarious than ever… especially thanks to its cast! Focus.

The concept of LOL: Who laughs, comes out! is simple in theory, but terribly difficult to apply. 10 candidates, all more famous than each other, are gathered in the same room for 6 hours. Their goal ? Resist the devastating humor of their opponents and above all do not laugh. The most enduring will be offered a handsome check for 50,000 euros, to be given to the charity of their choice.

From its timeless rules to its unexpected twists and turns, there are many ingredients that make LOL a resounding success. But what makes this Prime Video series so special is its cast. Gérard Darmon, Éric and Ramzy, Ahmed Sylla… They marked the history of LOL by offering spectators their best laughs.

Starting March 10, get ready to laugh! From Jonathan Cohen to Pierre Niney via Virginie Efira and François Damiens, Prime Video has brought together the cream of the crop (of the cream) in 7 new episodes. To prepare for the new season, what better than to (re)discover these films and series where this starry cast shines?

Virginie Efira and Pierre Niney in 20 years apart

Before Virginie Efira and Pierre Niney won their respective Césars (her for Revoir Paris, he for Yves Saint Laurent), and achieved international fame, they played opposite each other 20 years apart. At the beginning of their career, the film was already vibrating with their comic energy. It will not fail to move you!

Virginie Efira plays Alice Lantins, 38, ambitious and relentless journalist. Irreproachable in her profession, she nevertheless suffers from an “old school” reputation that she would like to get rid of. Ready to do anything to dust off her image, she feigns a relationship with the young and charming Balthazar, with whom she is… 20 years apart.

Leïla Bekhti and Géraldine Nakache in I will go where you will go

Vali and Mina are two opposite sisters, separated by the trials of life. One is a singer, dreamer and emotional. The other is a therapist, distant and rational. Their father ends up finding the perfect opportunity to bring them together for a weekend and try to reconcile them. Can they put their differences aside?

An emblematic duo of contemporary French cinema, Leïla Bekhti and Géraldine Nakache made their debut together in All That Shines. Inseparable on screen as in life, they play on their complicity in I will go where you will go.

Francois Damiens in Torpedo

In addition to his legendary hidden cameras, François Damiens regularly appears at the cinema to mark the spectators with his hilarious replicas, the proof with Les Complices, in theaters on April 12, 2023. Dangerous candidate in the 3rd season of LOL, he played in Torpedo in 2012, a tender and touching road movie, but also completely quirky.

Michel Ressac, 35 years old and without a precise situation, spends his time achieving nothing… His life will however change completely when a phone call tells him that he will be able to meet his idol, the cyclist Eddy Merckx. This is for him the unexpected opportunity to patch things up with his father, who shares his passion.

Jonathan Cohen in Pop Redemption

Unforgettable in La Flamme and Le Flambeau, Jonathan Cohen adds with LOL a beautiful line to his comic CV. But before that, he was on the poster for Pop Redemption, alongside Julien Doré.

Every summer, since their adolescence, the Dead MaKabés have what they call a “summer tour” (a few concerts in festivals in the depths of Europe). But the thirties crisis is brewing and this week of recess may well be the last…

Gad Elmaleh in The Lining

A major figure in comic cinema, Francis Veber (Le Dîner de cons) brought together in 2006, in La Doublure, Alice Taglioni, Daniel Auteuil and Gad Elmaleh. True sponsor of the third season of LOL, Gad embodied in this film the recurring character of François Pignon, a modest valet forced by a rich client to take on the role of understudy to enable him to get out of a bad patch with his wife.

Adele Exarchopoulos in True Story

Another Prime Video format, True Story allowed several YouTube videographers (Natoo, McFly and Carlito, Cyprien) to give voice to celebrities from the world of cinema or music. Among them, Adèle Exarchopoulos told in season 2 the incredible story that led her to the Cannes red carpet at just 20 years old. Note that Pierre Niney, Géraldine Nakache and Jonathan Cohen, already mentioned, also participated in True Story.

Paul Mirabel in Classico

After a remarkable debut on the French stages, comedian Paul Mirabel confirmed his comic talent in Classico, where he plays a young supporter of Olympique de Marseille. With his friend Sami (Ahmed Sylla), he tries to recover the Champions Cup, stolen by Parisian supporters.

According to Virginie Efira and Gad Elmaleh, Paul Mirabel is the most imperturbable of the candidates for this third season. Can you hold back laughter for as long as he does (spoiler: it’s absolutely impossible)?

The first 5 episodes of the 3rd season of LOL: Who laughs, comes out! are available from March 10 on Prime Video. The last 2 will only arrive on March 17.
