Visa: extended collaboration with Western Union


(CercleFinance.com) – Western Union, the global money transfer and currency exchange giant, announced on Tuesday an extension of its strategic agreement with credit card issuer Visa.

Under the terms of the agreement, Western Union will deploy the Visa Direct platform, the real-time payment application developed by Visa, within its US branch network.

Western Union notes that this decision follows the activation of the service in the 20 European countries in which it is present, which allowed Visa cardholders to send or receive funds within 30 minutes. after validation of the transaction.

US Western Union customers will now be able to send funds in real time to Visa cardholders in Colombia, El Salvador, Jamaica, the Philippines, Romania and Thailand.
