Visiomed sells tests to the city of Paris and Groupe Casino

Since February 2021, Visiomed has fallen a little lower on the stock market every month, until its shares are worth only 0.0841 euros during the December 21 session. Since then, they have doubled in value, thanks to a rebound of more than 80% in the last two sessions. At Thursday’s high, they were trading at 0.1672. Listed on the stock exchange for more than ten years (2011), the company has refocused on telemedicine since the end of 2019 – after selling its branch of small, unconnected devices (which included its contactless forehead thermometers sold in pharmacies) – has never been profitable and displays negative equity. Until the takeover in June 2019, Visiomed lost 20 million euros per year.

The first half of 2021 ended with a loss of 3.6 million (-0.1 million in pro forma data) compared to a negative net result of 0.2 million in the first half of 2020. The publication of the accounts took place in October and “Given the profound transformation linked to the acquisition of Smart Salem in August, the company has decided to publish proforma accounts, in addition to its consolidated accounts, in order to give an image of its new scope of activity”, then explained the management.

In pro forma data, integrating the activity of Smart Salem, presented as the first medical center digitized and accredited by the Dubai Ministry of Health as well as by the General Directorate of Residence and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) in the Arab Emirates united, the turnover for the first half would have been 7.6 million, against 18.6 million a year earlier and 0.3 million in real terms.

“Listening to market needs”

The company had launched, in 2020, the sale to hospitals of screening tests manufactured by Chinese laboratories, which had driven its growth. Very recently, the appearance of the Omicron variant and its very rapid spread enabled it to receive more than one million euros in orders from the city of Paris, to which Visiomed sold antigenic tests, and from the also from Groupe Casino (Casino, Franprix and Monoprix), which has obtained rapid self-tests. The announcement was made in a press release this morning. The direction “remains attentive to the needs of the market and [est] ready[e] to activate its networks in order to provide new diagnostic and individual protection equipment. » Visiomed also offers, in an opportunistic way, masks, visors, gloves, disposable gowns…

Visiomed’s greatest challenge is the marketing of its VisioCheck mini-station, which makes it easy to take measurements of vital constants and ensure teleconsultation with a remote doctor. Last year, it was one of the twenty innovations selected by the Regional Health Agency (ARS) and among the favorites of the Regional Conference on Health and Autonomy (CRSA) in the ambulatory medicine category.
