Vitamin bomb – fruits of our childhood, part two: the dirndl

The dirndl season begins. However, this dirndl cannot be worn as a dress. But they taste good. A bit sour, sometimes a bit spicy, but very refreshing. Dirndls used to be welcome guests in Austrian gardens. Hard to find these days, these shiny red, 15-20 mm, oval, berry-like, edible drupes. It’s a pity somehow, as jam, liqueur or syrup they are almost unbeatable.
