If you appreciate all-in-one software, the Vivaldi browser should appeal to you. The software, already very complete in its main mission which consists in surfing the Internet, has just officially integrated tools to manage your e-mails, your calendars and your RSS feeds.

Remember that Vivaldi is available on Windows, Mac and Linux, but also Android. However, the mobile version does not (for the moment) benefit from these additions.

No need for other software, Vivaldi does it all

Just a week after upgrading to 5.3, the Vivaldi browser is back in the news with a big chunk. In beta for several months now, the software’s Mail, Agenda and RSS Feeds tools are now in version 1.0.

Optional, these features integrate directly into the browser in several places, including the sidebar. As always with Vivaldi, the set is highly customizable, both in substance and form.

On the e-mail side, it is notably possible to add different external accounts (IMAP or POP3), or even to use a Vivaldi.net account. The solution notably differentiates between unseen and unread e-mails, while numerous views and a powerful search tool make it easy to find your way around. Signatures, labels, flags and various other features are included.

Regarding the Calendar, it is possible to use both online and local calendars. With its different views, this tool can notably display events directly from the side panel. A contextual input directly in the browser also allows you to quickly add dates to the calendar, and keyboard shortcuts are there to gain efficiency.

Finally, the RSS feed tool allows you to quickly consult written, audio or video content from the sources of your choice. This feed can be displayed in the mail panel or via a dedicated panel. In the case of videos (YouTube, for example), it is possible to consult them directly in the tool without having to go through the source.

Vivaldi

  • The advantages of Chrome/Google without the disadvantages
  • Lots of features
  • Advanced customization for power users

By offering a large number of native features and customization tools aimed primarily at power users and allergic to Google, Vivaldi is an extremely rich and complete browser that may at first seem heavy and complex to approach and adjust. But thanks to a solid optimization work and various levels of settings, the software is now for everyone and allows you to free yourself from Google’s privacy policy while enjoying the benefits of Chrome. The Android version of Vivaldi is also an excellent complement to the desktop version, which today recalls the best hours of Opera.
