Buying a refurbished product is no longer a taboo, it has even become a strong trend which notably accelerated during the global Covid-19 pandemic. An IFOP poll dated December 2020 on behalf of SMAAART indicated that “that 60% of French people had bought or intended to buy a refurbished smartphone and that, of these, 30% had bought more French products since the health crisis”.
If refurbished products, especially high-tech, delight individuals, they also appeal to companies wishing to reduce their ecological footprint without falling into the greenwashing.

Thus, the French start-up offers no less than three reconditioned models available in several copies, accessible from €74.90. These (Inkpad 3, Touch HD Plus, and Touch Lux 4) are visible for purchase on the Cultura website.

But, before offering its refurbished e-readers for sale, Vivlio entrusted them to the famous iFixit platform, which specializes in refurbishment in Europe. Thus, the selected models were “carefully reviewed and tested”. Vivlio indicates that the defective internal parts have been replaced either with new parts or with used parts.
