In the absence of offers discover

Vivo still intends to find a place in the European market despite the competition between historical players and the Chinese. The firm presented yesterday its V23, a mid-range smartphone that hopes to stand out thanks to its design, but also by a rather solid technical sheet.

In fact, it succeeds the V21 without however the latter being removed from the Vivo catalog. The terminal, however, does not opt for the same design and is intended to be a little neater thanks to the use of glass and metal. The V23 sports a rather elegant angular design, which obviously recalls the recent models of the Cupertino company, with a weight limited to 181 g. Alas, it has no waterproof certification.

We were able to see both colors, Sparkle Gold and Starry Black. The first has the particularity of changing color once exposed to UV thanks to a fluorine coating. This was already the case on the recent Realme 9 Pro+.

A solid technical sheet

In addition to this aesthetic choice, the mobile has an interesting technical sheet. It is indeed equipped with a flat Amoled screen of 6.44 inches Full HD + (2400 x 1080 pixels) and has a refresh rate of 90 Hz. It also houses a fingerprint reader.

Under its hood, there is a SoC Dimensity 920 coupled with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. We can therefore expect good performance in applications as well as in video games.

The design of the V23 is inspired by that of the apple.

Autonomy is ensured by a 4200 mAh battery compatible with FlashCharge technology at 44 W. The manufacturer is not overzealous and promises a full recharge in 62 min (65% in 30 min). The size of the accumulator seems a bit small compared to the competition; it will therefore be necessary to analyze how energy management has been optimized.

On the photo side, Vivo has chosen a triple photo sensor consisting of a 64-megapixel wide-angle, whose lens opens at f / 1.9, an 8 Mpx ultra-wide-angle (f / 2.2) and a 2 MP macro module (f/2.4). Nothing surprising for a mid-range 2022, even if the firm still intends to offer an improved rendering at night thanks to its expertise.

Selfies first

It is once again at the front that the company stands out. The V21 already offered a unique experience for selfies and the V23 continues this momentum. The brand this time includes a 50 Mpx (f / 2) wide-angle module and an 8 Mpx ultra wide-angle (f / 2.3) accompanied by a dual LED flash for selfies.

It is now possible to choose between various temperature levels to apply for these. It is also possible to activate them manually on all apps (Snapchat, Instagram, etc.), which was not the case before. This feature is primarily aimed at the youngest and social network enthusiasts.

While the Vivo V21 was offered at €419 when it was released, the V23 is sold for €529. A significant increase that accompanies the majority of models this year. The V23 will be available from April 15, 2022 on the Vivo site and at retailers such as Fnac, Darty, Carrefour or Leclerc.
