Vivo X Fold 2: the future folding smartphone has almost no more secrets

While its presentation is scheduled for this month, the X Fold 2, the next folding smartphone from the Chinese company Vivo, has just leaked on the web. A fairly precise technical sheet is therefore beginning to take shape, even if it is not yet complete.

Thanks to various stolen photos, we learn that the Vivo X Fold 2 will benefit from an 8.03-inch Amoled E6 panel with a definition of 2160 x 1916 pixels and benefiting from a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Maximum brightness of the display would be 1800 nits according to the manufacturer. The external panel is also Amoled E6 type. It measures 6.53 inches and has a definition of 2560 x 1080 pixels. The refresh is, again, at 120 Hz. Finally, and this is a first in the world of folding, the two screens have a fingerprint reader.

As we might have guessed, it is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 that will bring the folding smartphone to life. The high-end chip will be paired with the fastest LPDDR5X RAM on the market. However, its RAM capacity and its storage are, for the time being, not known. Ready for the future, the X Fold 2 will be wifi 7 compatible and the Vivo ISP V2 will be responsible for offering a quality photo component.

To top it off, a 4800 mAh battery is provided, as well as wired charging at 120 W and wireless charging at 50 W. With charging at 120 W, the smartphone is guaranteed to find the 100 % in just 25 minutes. According to Vivo, the new design of the hinge would make its new flagship 10% lighter than the previous one, which is not negligible for the grip.
