Vladimir Fedorovski: “To say that Putin is a madman is a falsehood”

The writer and former Russian diplomat, Vladimir Fedorovski estimated in the Morning of CNEWS that if there: “there is irrationality in Putin, to say that he is a madman is an untruth”.

Vladimir Fedorovski, who studied the Russian president for a long time, felt that to understand Vladimir Putin it was necessary to turn to his youth.

“I came to the conclusion that the main dimension of the character is determined by his childhood”, he explains before continuing, “when he was a child, almost abandoned in Saint Petersburg, he was trained by the underworld” from the city.

A background in the underworld that gave him purpose. According to former Russian diplomat, Vladimir Putin “believes he is sent by providence to save Russia, if not ensure its greatness.”

A parallel between Putin and Khrushchev

Thus, the danger of the Russian leader comes from his way of thinking. He “is a diehard, he is not going to back down. This is where the danger comes from, he attacks first. It is this Putin that we are facing and this is what we have to manage.”

Vladimir Fedorovski sees in the Ukrainian crisis a parallel with the crisis in Cuba 60 years ago. “Finally Khrushchev was neither less crazy nor crazier than Putin during the crisis in Cuba and we managed the crisis,” said the former diplomat.
