In a recent interview with the Belgian media Het Laatse Nieuws, the head of the Ukrainian intelligence services, Kyrylo Budanov, declared that “talks are underway in Russia regarding the succession of Vladimir Putin”. The war thus seems to have an unexpected impact.

Stuck in an invasion of Ukraine for many months, the president of Russia seems to have less and less unanimity among his own people. In a recent interview with the Belgian newspaper Het Laatse Nieuws, the latter did not hesitate to provide a lot of information on the war in Ukraine. One of which not many people seemed to expect.
Among his main statements, one thing caught the attention of the entire international community: his strong opinion on the future of Vladimir Putin. According to him, it is “very unlikely” that the current president of the Russian Federation will be able to remain in office after the war. “The Russian people will continue to support the government until it is defeated, but I then expect Putin to be overthrown. Talks are already underway in Russia about his succession. But whoever comes to power, Putin will be blamed for everything that went wrong.”he explained.
A lot of information about nuclear weapons and the future of Vladimir Putin
Another very important point that Kyrylo Boudanov wanted to clarify: the potential use of nuclear weapons by Russia. “Russia is a terrorist state with a nuclear arsenal, so theoretically it remains a possibility. However, we do not see any preparatory activity of this nature. Meanwhile, the enemy accuses us of producing a dirty bomb, but we will never stoop to that. With this lie, the Russians just want to put pressure on us to bring us to the negotiating table.” If his declarations are logically to be taken with tweezers because of the propaganda made by the two camps, they should not be taken lightly either.
