Some will see it as a comical coincidence, others a stroke of karma. It would seem that the companion of one of Vladimir Putin’s daughters has a family name well known to the Russian president, but not necessarily for the right reasons.
Ekaterina Tikhonova is the youngest daughter of Vladimir Putin. After being married in 2013 with Kirill Chamalovfrom whom she will divorce in 2017 following an infidelity of the latter with a Russian socialite, the dancer and businesswoman has found love in the arms of a man with a family name very familiar from the Putin camp – and from the rest of the world.
The companion of Vladimir Putin’s daughter is called Igor Zelensky
The year of her divorce, Ekaterina Tikhonova – who chose to bear the surname of her maternal grandmother to preserve a semblance of anonymity – now spins perfect love with a certain Igor Zelensky, a 52-year-old former ballet dancer.
If the companion of Vladimir Putin’s daughter has the same last name as the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyagainst whom he is at war, the two men have no family relationship. the year they met, Igor Zelensky and Ekaterina Tikhonovawhich has been blacklisted by the United States government, gave birth to a baby girl, and moved to Munich two years later, in 2019.
Vladimir Putin very discreet about his daughters and their children
Vladimir Putin speaks very little of his two daughters Ekaterina and Maria, who never appear publicly by his side: “I never discuss matters related to my family. They are not involved in business or politics. This question is essential, it avoids possible political pressure”he confided in 2015, in an interview where he mentioned, for the first time, the existence of his daughters, born in Dresden (East Germany) in 1985 and 1986.
In 2016, Vladimir Putin also indulged in a few secrets about his family life, and in particular about his grandchildrenfor which he said he wanted the simplest of educations: “One is already going to kindergarten. Understand this: I don’t want them to grow up like princesI want them to grow up like normal people”.
