Voice of Cards: The Beasts of Burden, a third episode of Square Enix and Yoko Taro’s license formalized and dated

It’s hard to ignore the name of Yoko Taro since the resounding success of NieR: Automatawhich will also be back in a few weeks with a port on Switch, the The End of YoRHa Edition (in pre-order on Amazon for €39.99). But creator and producer Yosuke Saito obviously has another game in the works, which could be announced soon and whose existence has leaked via the database of the NHP as reported PlayStation Game Size.

Yes, less than a year since the release of the first license game, Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roarsfollowed last February by Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maideneverything suggests that Square-Enix apparently about to reveal a third installment titled Voice of Cards: The Beasts of Burden. As a reminder, this is a series of RPG using tabletop role-playing game codes with a card system, a good way to tell stories without pushing development costs too much.

We will probably have to wait a little longer before knowing the plot of this Voice of Cards: The Beasts of BurdenHoping that Square-Enix end up releasing a physical compilation of all the episodes. If its release date is also scheduled for the end of the year, the publisher’s calendar will be really busy!

Update : the game is now official, because Square-Enix just broadcast the trailer, release date in support! It is therefore on September 13 that Voice of Cards: The Beasts of Burden will be released on PS4, Switch and PC. In addition to Yoko Taro and Yosuke Saito, we find again on this project the composer Keiichi Okabe and the character designer Kimihiko Fujisaka.

Voice of Cards: The Beasts of Burden takes players into a world illustrated by cards. This third installment now gives players the ability to trap the monsters they defeat in cards in order to reuse them as skills during battles. They will discover a new story set in a world where monsters and humans have clashed for a thousand years and where a homeless girl has sworn revenge on the monsters. In the company of a strange boy, she ventures into the unknown. Together they will unravel the threads of fate in this broken world.
