Volkswagen ID.Life, or even crossing it on the side of the road, it’s a waste of time.
Indeed, the Wolfsburg firm has announced that it has finally given up on going beyond the concept stage for this vehicle.
Farewell little ID.Life gone too soon…
While it was initially supposed to arrive on the market in 2025 and, above all, cost less than 20,000 euros excluding various bonuses on purchase, Volkswagen’s ID.Life electric city car will not see the light of day. Or at least not in the form of the concept car seen at the last IAA Mobility show in Munich (Germany).
Indeed, Volkswagen is not abandoning the idea of offering a vehicle model similar to the ID.Life project, namely a more affordable product than the average. As a result, according to internal Volkswagen rumors disclosed by CleanTechnica, the next ID.Life may well be called ID.2. And this could take the dual form of a Polo coupled with a Golf. The five-door exterior would be inspired by the current Polo, while the interior finishes would be borrowed from the Golf. Business to follow, therefore, for a vehicle which could also finally appear on the market… in 2025!
