Volkswagen has been teasing its second generation ID.3 for several weeks; the German brand will officially present the vehicle on March 1st. In order to tickle our curiosity, the company published a message on Twitter accompanied by a short video which reveals certain curves of the beauty; some pictures of a front end that doesn’t seem to have changed much.

For this new version of the ID.3, Volkswagen had outlined its plans in a press release dating back to last December. The company mentioned changes both inside and outside the vehicle, as well as the integration of new technologies. We will have to wait until March 1 to discover the final and complete result. In the meantime, we have the tweet below.

Do you see any changes?

Volkswagen clarifies: We look forward to the world premiere of the new #VWID3 on March 1, 2023! Here we show you an exclusive preview! We think the front is very dynamic and attractive with its clean lines and large LED headlights. What do you think ? »

For our part, we do not perceive any difference compared to the ID.3 as we know it – in any case, on the small pieces of bodywork revealed in the sequence.

Changes especially in the interior of the vehicle and in the level of driving for the second generation ID3

Remember that the ID.3 made its debut in 2020 in Europe, before finding its way to China at the end of 2021. It is the spiritual daughter of the e-Golf, abandoned the same year (but which could make its return), in the same way as an electric Tiguan, in the future. The ID.3, which is located on the MEB platform, has met with great success in several European countries. The second generation ID.3 is therefore expected at the turn.

According to Volkswagen, this version benefits from several improvements. Beyond the slightly revamped exterior, the changes relate to the interior design and driver assistance technologies. For the first aspect, let us mention in particular an elongated central screen of 2 inches (12 inches and no longer 10 inches) or the addition of a cup holder. In addition, the brand, which has not been reluctant to test on monkeys in the past, has decided to do without any animal products from now on. For the second point, let’s mention the integration of the Travel Assist driving assistant.

Still made in Germany, the second generation ID3 will be available from 43,995 euros in its Life edition. Volkswagen is planning its first deliveries in the fourth quarter of 2023. See you next Wednesday for the official – and complete – presentation of the vehicle.
