Volkswagen ID. Buzz: already 20,000 orders

Soon in test at the writing of the Digital and even though it is currently only offered in Europe in a propulsion version with an 82 kWh battery pack, either in a version dedicated to individuals or in a commercial version, the ID. Buzz is already registering an interesting craze.

Indeed, Lars Krause, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Brand Board Member for Sales and Marketing, made the following statement: “Even before the launch at our dealers, we have already registered more than 20,000 orders. The availability in dealerships could undoubtedly increase its interest.”

VW has started production of the ID. Buzz in Hannover, Germany in early June 2022 and expects to build 15,000 units by the end of the year. The manufacturer hopes to be able to manufacture up to 130,000 copies of the ID. Buzz every year. The first 6,000 units built should be on their way to dealerships shortly.

As a reminder, two months ago, Volkswagen announced that 10,000 copies of the ID Buzz had already found takers, including a third in Norway.

Available in Pro (five seats) and Cargo versions, the ID. Buzz is marketed respectively at €64,581 and €54,430 in Germany. The first deliveries are expected to arrive in October 2022, with Volkswagen claiming to have fixed the issue with battery production.

The only variant of the ID. Buzz currently available to customers in Europe has a WLTP range of 420 km. Regarding recharging, it is possible up to 11 kW in alternating current and 170 kW in direct current, allowing to go from 5 to 80% of charge in about 30 minutes. We are therefore curious to see how these characteristics will find expression in the lives of users going on road trip.
