Automotive industry investment in this technology is booming.
Investments in self-driving cars are picking up again. The Volkswagen group and its compatriot, the equipment manufacturer Bosch, have just created a new alliance in automated driving to deploy certain so-called level 2 functions from 2023, that is to say allowing you to take your hands off the wheel. What Tesla already offers with its “autopilot” function which, however, requires the driver to be ready to take control at any time.

“Through our cooperation, we will strengthen Germany’s reputation for innovation. Bosch and Cariad will further improve their expertise through the development of pioneering technologies,” said Dirk Hilgenberg, CEO of Cariad, the German manufacturer’s subsidiary dedicated to software.
