Volkswagen will launch 11 new electric cars by 2027, including one for 20,000 euros

Volkswagen recently organized a conference to announce the launch program for its future electric cars. And the least we can say is that the latter is very busy, with eleven new models in just three years.

While new thermal cars will be banned in Europe from 2035, some manufacturers are already ahead. This is particularly the case for Volkswagen, which already has a well-stocked range.

A very interesting program

In addition to the ID.3, the German firm is currently marketing its ID.4 and ID.5 SUVs, not to mention the ID.7 sedan, as well as the ID. Buzz, which we were able to try. As you can imagine, the German firm does not intend to rest on its laurels. This is what it recently confirmed by organizing a conference to present its product plan for the coming years, relayed by the Chinese site Autohome.

We see the highly anticipated ID.2all, a city car for less than 25,000 euros which will compete head-on with the Citroën ë-C3, which we recently approached. It will also of course hunt in the land of the new Renault 5 E-Tech, which we discovered a few weeks earlier.

This ID.2all will be available in a sportier version, called ID. GTI, notably seen at the Munich show last year. The ID.7 Tourer, station wagon version of the electric sedan, has already been presented, as has the ID. Long wheelbase Buzz, which will be launched this year.

But until then, there is nothing very secret, since all these cars are already more or less known to the general public. Moreover, they are even visible in photos on the slide shown by the manufacturer.

But we also discover another image ofa car still hidden, showing an entry-level electric model. In fact, and without much surprise, it should be the small ID.1, highly anticipated but never really officially confirmed by the brand. So it’s now done.

Priced at less than 20,000 euros, it could be designed in partnership with Renault, which will produce an electric Twingo. The two city cars will be able to compete with the future Smart ForTwo, which should be reborn, but not right away. In any case, this car could help the German manufacturer, which recently unveiled a plan of attack to get out of the financial difficulties of its electric division.

11 new electric cars by 2027

In total, Volkswagen plans to launch no less than 11 new electric models by 2027. Indeed, the firm is also preparing the arrival of its ID.2all SUV, which it had already announced a little earlier with a first image. At that time, only a small piece of the figure had been shown. The marketing date has not yet been revealed at this time.

We also see thatanother electric SUV is also in the pipeline, currently known as the “A-Main SUVe”. Could it be an electric version of its Tiguan, as we mentioned at the beginning of last year? This is entirely possible, and it could see the light of day during the year 2026.

We also note the presence of a model called ID.4 PA, but for the moment, no information has been revealed. Maybe it’s a restyling or a major update?

Xpeng x Volkswagen SUV

Finally, it is impossible to miss the two models co-designed in partnership with the Chinese manufacturer Xpeng. The latter will then display the logo of the German firm, but will benefit from the technologies developed by the company from the Middle Kingdom. Among them, fast charging in just 15 minutes and without a doubt autonomous driving, which had already proven itself.

These two cars should arrive on the market by 2026, initially in China. Their arrivals in Europe seem more hypothetical, but Volkswagen has not communicated in this direction.
