Time magazine has published its list of the “100 Most Influential People”. Among them for the first time: Volodymyr Zelenskyj.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy (44) put it on the list of the “100 most influential people” of “Time” magazine done. The politician-turned-face of Ukraine’s resistance to Russian inversion is listed for the first time in 2022.

US President Joe Biden (79) wrote the accompanying essay for the Ukrainian politician. “In President Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian people have a leader worthy of their bravery and resilience,” it said. “The nations of the free world, inspired by the example of President Zelensky, are more united, determined and purposeful than at any time in our recent history.”

Also Vladimir Putin on the list

In addition to Zelenskyj, in the “Leaders” category are, among others, the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley (56), Russian President Vladimir Putin (69), US President Joe Biden, Chinese Prime Minister Xi Jinping (69), the President of the European Commission to find Ursula von der Leyen (63) and Chancellor Olaf Scholz (63).

The editor-in-chief and CEO of “Time” magazine explains that both Zelenskyy and Putin appear on the list as follows: “They are the poles of this list and of this moment. (…) Of course, influence can be for better or for worse – a dichotomy that has never been clearer than in this year’s list.”

In addition to “Leaders”, there are also the categories “Pioneers”, “Artists”, “Titans”, “Icons” and “Innovators”. Among the “artists” are the actors Simu Liu (33), Andrew Garfield (38), Amanda Seyfried (36) and Sarah Jessica Parker (57). Apple CEO Tim Cook (61), talk show legend Oprah Winfrey (68) and entrepreneur Kris Jenner (66) made it into the “Titans” category.

The “icons” include, for example, actor Keanu Reeves (57), tennis pro Rafael Nadal (35) and singer Adele (34). Actress Zendaya (25) and director Taika Waititi (46) were described as “innovators”, while basketball player Candace Parker (36) and economist Emily Oster (42) were “pioneers”.
