The architect who prefers to write screenplays

Olena Selenska studied civil engineering at the National University of Krywyj Rih – it was here that she fell in love with her future husband in 1995. “I am a non-public person”

And she does, even though she had to completely change her life since May 20, 2019. “I am a private person. But the new realities require their own rules and I try to abide by them,” she said shortly after the election. “I prefer to stay backstage. My husband is always in the front row, while I’m more comfortable in the shade. I’m not the center of the party, I don’t like cracking jokes. It’s not in my nature. But I’m up for it I’ve found reasons for doing public relations myself. One of them is the opportunity to draw people’s attention to important social issues,” reveals Selenska. Olena Selenska has two jobs at the same time

Despite her initial doubts, she has been celebrated as a dutiful first lady since her husband was elected. Shortly after the Russian troops invaded, the First Lady took to Instagram. “My dear people, Ukrainians! I’m looking at you all today: everyone I see on TV, in the streets and on the internet. I see your posts and videos. And you know what? You guys are amazing. I’m proud to to live with you and in the same country…” are the moving words of the mother of two. She continued: “Today I will not panic and tears. I will be calm and confident. My children are looking at me, I will be next to them and next to my husband and with you. I love you! I love Ukraine! ”

It is the love for their homeland and the hope that one day everything will be fine that carries Olena, Volodymyr, their children and the whole of Ukraine through these dark days.
