Voltalia chosen to build and operate solar power plants totaling 230 megawatts


(AOF) – Voltalia, a specialist in renewable energies, has been chosen by Power Capital Renewable Energy, a major independent energy producer based in Ireland, to ensure the construction, operation and maintenance of four photovoltaic projects located in the south -east of the Republic of Ireland, with a total capacity of 230 megawatts. The Lysaghtstown power station in County Cork will have a capacity of 131 megawatts, that of Tullabeg in County Wexford will have a capacity of 83.9 megawatts.

The Painestown in County Meath and Beaulieu in County Louth will have capacities of 9.3 and 6.6 megawatts respectively.

All four projects are currently under construction. Once completed in 2023 for the smaller sites and in 2024 for the larger ones, the photovoltaic plants will sell their electricity via long-term contracts in the technology sector.

Voltalia designs and builds projects. After their completion, Voltalia will operate and maintain the facilities on behalf of Power Capital for a period of 15 years.
