Voltalia: commissions its largest solar power plant

(CercleFinance.com) – Voltalia announces that it has completed the full commissioning of SSM1-2, its largest solar project, with a capacity of 320 MW, located in the Serra Branca complex, in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Norte.

‘The commissioning of SSM1-2 is a great satisfaction. Work is continuing with the neighboring SSM3-6 site, with a power of 260 megawatts, which began in March 2022’, explains Sébastien Clerc, general manager of Voltalia.

Initially with a capacity of 32 megawatts, the size of the project has been increased tenfold thanks to new long-term power sales contracts signed with a series of buyers, including Braskem, a large petrochemical group, and Copel, one of leaders of the Brazilian electricity sector partner of Voltalia on several operations.

Long-term electricity sales contracts have an average duration of 16 years, specifies Voltalia.
