Voltalia: full power for the SSM3-6 power plant in Brazil

(AOF) – Voltalia, specialist in renewable energies, announces that its SSM3-6 solar power plant is producing at full power, including the last tranche of 133 megawatts whose entry into operation was slowed down due to the consequences of the network blackout on August 15 last year. Construction of the SSM3-6 solar power plant (Solar Serra do Mel 3, 4, 5 and 6) was launched in March 2022.

The plant began producing in July 2023 with an initial tranche of 17 megawatts, to which an additional 243 megawatts were gradually added to now reach its full capacity of 260 megawatts.

“Even if the ramp-up of the SSM3-6 solar power plant has been slowed down at the request of the network manager, we are proud to announce that SSM3-6 is injecting its full power into the electricity network. At the same time, our teams are fully mobilized to put into production another of our new power plants: the Canudos wind farm, also ready to inject into the network”, declares Sébastien Clerc, Managing Director of Voltalia.
