Did you also find that the volume settings on Windows 11 were not very ergonomic? Here is some news that should make you happy.

While Microsoft intends to revolutionize the Windows experience with artificial intelligence in the coming months, the American giant has not forgotten the basic functionalities.

You will soon be able to manage your different volumes from the taskbar

It has now been over a year since the Redmond company launched Windows 11 on the market. If the youngest of the family of Windows operating systems takes relatively long to establish itself on a large scale, it is clear that it is enriched as and when new features. Moreover, according to the discoveries made in build 25281 of Windows 11 reserved for insider members, it is this time the controls related to the volume that should undergo a well-deserved facelift.

After File Explorer and Task Manager, it is now the turn of volume settings to be scrutinized by Microsoft. As Rafael Rivera reported on Twitter, the volume mixer, accessible from the taskbar, has recently undergone some notable changes. Indeed, it will soon finally be possible to adjust the sound of each application independently of the others. Thus, you will no longer need to rummage through the Windows settings, at the risk of getting lost and forgetting the very reason for your visit.

A volume mixer a little too inspired by EarTrumpet?

If you’re a regular on Windows, then you might have noticed that the new volume mixer shares a lot of similarities with the EarTrumpet app. Launched in 2016, it allows you to control several audio sources from your computer’s taskbar. Note also that the audio device manager has not seen any major changes for a number of years, more precisely since the Windows 7 era. It was therefore high time that Microsoft got involved!

If some accuse Microsoft of having taken a little too much inspiration from EarTrumpet for the development of the future Windows 11 audio mixer, remember that this feature is currently only in the test phase and that it could, d ‘here its possible deployment, undergo some modifications. Anyway, this is news that will undoubtedly delight those who are regularly required to navigate between their different audio sources.
