Before we get there, we’ll show you what we can expect. First the obvious: The ID. Aero will die first electric sedan in VW’s portfolio will. Otherwise, not much is known from the official side. Like the entire ID series, the Aero will also be based on the VW Group’s modular electrical construction kit (MEB). So the family resemblance is preserved.

This also suggests that we can expect a similar battery capacity. hopes that the ID. Buzz would come onto the market with a much more powerful battery, VW had disappointed.

As part of the presentation on June 27, the version for the Chinese market will be shown, where the ID. Aero will also be offered first: It should probably be in the second half of 2023. Customers in Germany, Europe and the USA have to wait longer. Here the presentation is only scheduled for 2023, after which production for the western markets will start in Emden, according to VW. New e-car from VW has a range of almost 600 km

Until then, the strength of the battery could change again. The Aero, which could appear in Europe under the name ID.7, comes with details from VW’s “Space Vizzion” study expected with an 82 kWh battery (Source: Autobild) – at least a small plus to the current status.

The sedan shape should be able to score points compared to the higher SUVs ID.4 and ID.5 with a longer range. 590 km according to the WLTP standard would definitely be an announcement – also to the competition from Tesla.
