Wacken Open Air 2022
Seven other metal greats confirmed
The last time the Wacken Open Air took place in 2019.

In the coming year it should finally take place again, the famous Wacken Open Air. The line-up is now growing by seven more bands.
After two editions fell victim to the corona pandemic, the famous Wacken Open Air will take place again in 2022. For the already sold out headbang event from August 4th to 6th next year seven more metal bands have now been announced. For the first time in two decades, Mercyful Fate from Denmark will be there again. And also the two German bands Kissin ‘Dynamite and Hämatom will rock the tranquil Wacken in Schleswig-Holstein in 2022.
The other newly announced acts are Nothgard, Moonspell, Wind Rose and Einherjer. The well-known headliners in the coming year include Rammstein singer Till Lindemann (58). Originally a performance of the singer was planned for “Wacken Wednesday 2021”. In 2022, Lindemann will make his Wacken debut on one of the festival days at the beginning of August.
The who’s who of the tough pace
Other bands had already been confirmed beforehand. For example, Judas Priest, In Extremo, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, Rose Tattoo, Lacuna Coil, Gwar and As I Lay Dying will also perform at Wacken Open Air in summer 2022.
