Further top acts have now been announced for the 33rd edition of Wacken Open Air – including the legendary Kiss singer Gene Simmons.

Between July 31st and August 2nd, 2024, the legendary Wacken Open Air will take place again in the Schleswig-Holstein cult village of Wacken. The previously known line-up of the festival with headliners such as the Scorpions, Korn and In Extremo ensured that this Last year’s metal festival was completely sold out just 4.5 hours after advance booking opened. On Valentine’s Day today, the W:O:A management delighted its beloved fan base with the announcement of further stage highlights.

Kiss frontman Gene Simmons announces a banging set

The expanded line-up is led by none other than the legendary Kiss frontman Gene Simmons (74). After he announced the official end of Kiss in 2023, he will be on stage in Wacken with a new formation and will apparently press the hard rock accelerator a little more forcefully. In the press release about the expanded line-up, the 74-year-old announced the following: “The set will be much harder than what Kiss played, and I will play songs that have never been released before. Solo songs by me. “

Comedian Bülent Ceylan relies on “New German Hardness”

Other acts including US sludge icons Baroness and deathcore heroes from Whitechapel complete the list of announced music acts. With the comedian Bülent Ceylan (48), who was a guest at Wacken in 2011 and 2014, a somewhat more ironic and less dark note is coming into play again this year. Together with his new band of accomplished heavy musicians, the musical joker will release an album in the “Neue Deutsche Härte” style on March 1st. In October last year he presented a small foretaste of it the title song “I love people”.
