Wacken Open Air 2024
Sold out after four and a half hours
Wacken Open Air 2024 is already sold out. Top-class acts like the Scorpions or In Extremo are waiting for metal fans next year.
Those visitors who had to return their tickets this year had a right of first refusal. Due to heavy rainfall, the organizers ordered an entry ban at the beginning of last week. The metal festival in Schleswig-Holstein ended up taking place with significantly fewer visitors. 50,000 visitors left on Sunday.
“We have the best fans in the world”
Those who already had a ticket for Wacken 2023 and were not allowed on the site got their entrance fee reimbursed in addition to the right of first refusal.
“Especially after the difficult start of the festival this summer, where part of our metal family couldn’t celebrate, we appreciate that the community stands by us and sticks together,” explains organizer Thomas Jensen. “The fact that all 85,000 tickets are gone is simply amazing. We have the best fans in the world,” the festival organizer continued.
“We are more than grateful and humbled for the trust of our fans,” adds his colleague Holger Hübner, looking at the 2023 edition, which was under a bad star.
Wacken 2024: These bands are there
The Wacken makers have already announced the first 33 performers for next year. At the top of the list are the Scorpions. In addition to the veteran band from Hanover, the Swedes Amon Amarth are headlining Wacken 2024. With Blind Guardian, further veterans from Germany have been confirmed.
Also there next year are the medieval rockers In Extremo. Beast in Black, Knorkator, The Warning, Primordial and Red Fang have also announced their presence. More bands will follow.
