The new Bond film is slated to hit theaters in October 2021. Until then, fans can pass the waiting time as digital agents.

If the corona pandemic allows, “James Bond: No Time to Die” will begin after several postponements in German cinemas in October 2021 – although the new agent strip has been completed for what feels like an eternity. Fans can still have a long wait, for example, with one or the other video game.

Is it all just an accident?

A real agent feeling comes up with “Hitman 3”, which was released in January for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X, even if, as the name suggests, you play a hit man in it. Agent 47 embarks on new missions in which he has to eliminate his targets – in the most creative way possible. Almost anything can be turned into a weapon in the hands of the player – regardless of whether the whole thing is supposed to look like an accident in the end or whether brute force is used.

With their years of experience with the “Hitman” series, the developers at IO Interactive are also predestined to make a Bond game. So it was announced a few weeks ago that they are currently on “Project 007” (Working title) work that should offer a whole new agent story. The story of how Bond became a 00 agent is to be told. Until the publication, however, a few target people are likely to bless the time. The last release of a Bond game for PC and consoles was almost ten years ago. In 2012 a shooter “007 Legends” was released, but it was largely poorly received.

Is the world enough

With “Evil Genius 2: World Domination”, which was just released on Steam for PC, meanwhile, gamers are turning into super villains who want to usurp world domination. In four different campaigns they slip into the role of the insane Red Ivan or the former spy Emma and build a shelter that is appropriate for an evil mastermind.

“Dishonored 2: The Legacy of the Mask”, first released at the end of 2016 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, turns players into assassins with supernatural abilities. In this highly acclaimed action adventure, too, it is possible to either sneak stealthily through the shadows or go on a course of confrontation. As with an agent, skill and ingenuity often lead to the desired goal. In 2017, “Dishonored: The Death of the Outsider” was released, a standalone expansion.

If you want to spread a little spy feeling on your smartphone, you could “Agent A: Riddles in Disguise” (iOS, Android – also available for PC and consoles). Players have to solve all kinds of puzzles to track down an enemy spy. Particularly nice: everything is kept in the iconic style of the 1960s.
